Secret Romance : Love Lives Here

Today’s card has been made using the brand new Paper Boutique Secret Romance die collection from Creative Crafting World.

I decided to make a pop up box card in black, white and silver using the hearts from the Secret Romance Embellishment dies from the collection.

To make this card you will need :

A4 White Card
A4 Black Card
Silver Mirri Card
The Paper Boutique ‘Secret Romance’ Sentiment Dies Volume 10
The Paper Boutique ‘Secret Romance’ Embellishment Die Collection
The Paper Boutique ‘Secret Romance’ Love Lives Here Doily Die Collection
A Sheet Of Acetate
Black Fluff Feathers
Wet Glue / Double Sided Tape
Glue Gun
Foam Pads

Instructions For Pop Up Box:

Score the a4 white card at 10 cms on the longest length.

Turn the card to the shortest length and score at 7 cms, 14 cms, 21 cms and 28 cms.
These measurement will leave a 1.5 cms at the end of the card.

The white card now has a top measuring approximately 10 cms and a bottom measuring approximately 11 cms.

At the top of the card cut down all score lines to the centre score line. One the last one cut the 1.5 cm piece off at the center score line. This will give you four separate tops.
Fold down three of the tops, leaving the fourth one standing.

Glue the bottom 1.5 cm tab to the other side of the card to make the box shape.

Next cut two pieces of card measuring 10 cms by 5 cms.
On the 10 cm length score 1.5 cms on each end and fold.
Add glue to the folded ends and attach each to the inside of the pop up box card. This is where all embellishments are attached.
You can add more to the inside if you are adding smaller embellishments.

Matts, Layers and Embellishments:

Using black card cut three pieces measuring 9 cms by 6 cms.
Using white card cut three pieces measuring 8.5 cms by 5.5 cms.
Matt and layer these together and attach to the top fold down layers.

Using black card cut two piece measuring 20 cms by 6 cms.
Using white card cut two piece measuring 19.5 cms by 5.5 cms.
Matt and layer these together and attach one to the inside of the back of the box card and one to the outside.
The outside layer is the place for your message.

Next using the heart matt layer from the embellishment collection cut two in black card and one in white card.
Using the decorated hearts cut one out in black card, one in white card and one in silver mirri card.
Matt and layer each decorated heart to a matt layer.
Cut two strips of acetate and attach two of the hearts using wet glue.

Cut out both of the sentiment matt layers out from black card and cut the sentiment out from white card.
Matt and layer these together and add one to a strip of acetate.

The acetate helps to attach embellishments to the inside of the pop up box card and it also helps to get different heights.

Next using the doily die from the love lives here die collection, cut out once in silver mirri card and once in black card.
From this keep the small hearts (waste from the doily die) to use as embellishments. The main doily dies can be used on another project.

Using the small hearts add them to the top folds and to the inside at the back of the pop up box. Please see picture for reference.

Next using the two hearts and sentiment (attached to the acetate strips) attach to the inside strips of the pop up box. One heart at the back and one at the front.
Then add the sentiment in between these.
You will need to decide whether to add these to the front of the inside strips or the back of the inside strips. It all depends on where you would like your embellishments to sit.

Using hot glue attach three black feathers. One on the back inside strip, one to the right hand side on the inside strip and one to the front of the pop up box card.

To finish off add the last heart and sentiment to the front of the pop up box card using foam pads.
